I've been thinking about the Occupy Wall Street protests for awhile but it turns out that Sin City's Frank Miller has said pretty much everything that I wanted to say about the topic.
For those who would attack Mr. Miller's position on the Occupy Wall Street protests, you lose the moral high ground when people start dying.

Loose?
ReplyDeleteThanks...it was late.
ReplyDeleteIf you agree with Miller, it means you don't get a thing about the way this world works.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do understand is that the Occupy movement is protesting the wrong place. Blaming "Wall Street" for taking government bailouts while looking for the government to support them from cradle to grave. Everybody wants something for nothing be they person or corporation...and they'll take it if they can get it. The problem is with the politicians who are handing out tax money (your money) not to make the country a better place but to garner votes and secure their place at the public trough.
ReplyDeleteLocal governments are cutting back on such essential services as police and fire. Ask yourself "what else are they doing with tax revenue that they can't maintain police?" Then ask yourself "if they can't provide for your safety...what do you need a mayor, governor , congress person, senator or president for?" The solution is to hold the politicians feet to the fire.Remember you pay for the roads with gas taxes, you pay for your own water, you pay for your own food, your own housing, your own heat and electricity. These are your needs... everything else is a want. Instead of asking someone else to pay more of their "fair share" in taxes ask "where does the money go now?" But I'm sure when you voted for "Hope" and "Change" without asking what that change would be you got exactly what you expected or possibly deserved.
Finally, if you truly hate corporations I hope that you didn't run out and buy an Iphone 4S the day it came out. Your Iphone 4 works fine...so does your original Iphone for that matter.
